HOX ZODIAC FINAL BLOG

Hi everyone! My name is Kane Wan, and I am a third year student here studying business economics and film, television, and digital media. My zodiac sign is a horse and it has a very interesting relationship with the dragon, which is this year’s zodiac sign. The Horse is known for being energetic, independent, and adventurous, and people born in the Year of the Horse are often seen as hardworking and intelligent. We value freedom and may have a strong desire for exploration and new experiences.

The Dragon, on the other hand, is considered a symbol of strength, luck, and good fortune in Chinese culture. Those born in the Year of the Dragon are often seen as ambitious, charismatic, and full of energy. They may also be innovative and possess leadership qualities.

In terms of the relationship between the two signs, they are both considered as dynamic and active. While they share a sense of energy and enthusiasm, there can be differences in their approaches to life. The Horse may appreciate the Dragon's charisma and leadership qualities, while the Dragon might find the Horse's adventurous spirit intriguing.

The topic that I decided to choose is animals and therapy, as I think it would be interesting to explore the dynamics between human and animals and their psychological impact. Since I am studying film, the appearance of horses as a way of companionship and therapy in many movies is very common. For example, the 1998 movie The Horse Whisper, tells the story of a horse trainer with a unique ability to understand and communicate with horses. The movie explores the healing power of the human-horse connection as the trainer helps a traumatized horse and its owner recover from a tragic accident. The fact that the horse and the owner overcame the challenges together is what makes the bond between them more special. Another great example would be the 2011 movie War Horse, directed by Steven Spielberg. The film follows the journey of a young man and his horse during World War I. The bond between the horse, Joey, and his owner serves as a central theme, portraying the emotional support and companionship that animals can provide in challenging times. The movie Dreamer also demonstrates the power of the human-animal connection through horses. It tells the story that even when facing adversity in the competitive world of horse racing, Cale's unwavering belief in Soñador's potential becomes a source of inspiration. The film portrays the emotional impact horses can have on humans, emphasizing the long journey of rehabilitation, both for the injured racehorse and the Crane family.

These movies highlight the therapeutic and supportive roles that horses can play in the lives of humans. The depiction of horses in these movies reflects the profound impact they can have on individuals in various contexts. As a result, I really think that a horse is a magical animal that can create true relationships with humans, and as a person with the horse as my zodiac sign, now I even feel a more special layer of connection with the animal horse.
